BIRTH OF HAHNEMANN

Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann was born on 10 April, 1755.

Hahnemann started attending school

Hahnemann started his schooling at the age of 12 on 20Th July, 1767. Hahnemann was sent to Electoral school (Prince’s school) where he met Magister Muller, who played a very vita role in life of Hahnemann as expressed by him later in his life.

Hahnemann started to attend University of Erlangen. According to register of the university, the date was 22 May, 1775.In August of 1779, he go his MD degree.

Translation of Cullen’s Materia Medica

Hahnemann was a good translator. While translating Cullen’s materia medica from English to German, he came across a fact which Cullen has noted, “Peruvian Bark can be used successfully in the treatment of intermittent fever because it is bitter and it has tonic effect on stomach”.Hahnemann was dissatisfied with it and started experimenting it on himself.

AN ESSAY ON A NEW PRINCIPLE was published

After astonishing results of CHINA on himself, he kept on experimenting with other medicinal substances and finally when he was convinced about the truth which he discovered, he was sure enough to make it public. Therefore he published “AN ESSAY ON A NEW PRINCIPLE FOR ASCERTAINING THE CURATIVE POWERS OF DRUGS AND SOME EXAMINATIONS OF THE PREVIOUS PRINCIPLES”. This article was published in

Published in 1819. There were 318 aphorism but there was a mistake in counting and in actual there were only 315 aphorisms.

BAN ON HAHNEMANN

After death of his patient, Austrian Field Marshal ‘Karl Philipp Furst von Schwarzenberg’ while he was under treatment of Hahnemann, in 1816 three phramacists filed a lawsuit against Hahnemann in order to prohibit him from manufacturing Homoeopathic medicines. He was banned and put penalty on. He appealed the judgement before the Saxon King which did not help him. After this defeat Hahnemann left

HAHNEMANN MOVED TO KOTHEN

On 2nd April, 1821, after being granted permission to manufacture medicines Hahnemann was moved to Kothen with his wife and 10 remaining children. He lived there in house on wallstrasse No. 217 (today no. 47).

ORGANON OF MEDICINE – 3rd EDITION

Published in 1824. It had 320 aphorism but there was a mistake in numbering from previous edition and therefore in actual there were only 317 aphorism.

Term “POTENTISATION” was introduced

Hahnemann used this word for the first time in 1827.

THEORY OF CHRONIC DISEASES

He published his book “CHRONIC DISEASES” in 1828 based on his experiences regarding faliures and difficulties in treatment of chronic diseases. He wrote regarding this as “the begining was positive, it continued to be less favourable and ended hopelessly”.

50 YEARS OF DOCTORATE

On august 10, 1829 Hahnemann celebrated 5oth Anniversary of his doctorate. He was honored extensively and received financial benefits which laid down the foundation for a homoeopathic hospital.

ORGANON OF MEDICINE – 4th EDITION

Published in 1829. Theory of Chronic Diseases was introduced to Organon for the first time in this edition. it had 292 aphorisms.

ORGANON OF MEDICINE – 5th EDITION

Published in 1833. Theory of Vital force and of drug dynamisation was introduced for the first time in this edition. It had 294 aphorisms.

Hahnemann remarried and moved to FRANCE

In 1843, amongst many patients that year there was MARIE MELANIE D’HERVILLY GOHIER (age 34) who came to see Hahnemann for the treatment of a nervous condition. A few months later, on January 18th 1835, they both got married and started living in the house on Wallstrasse at Kothen. After living in the Kothen for another six months, he departed for Paris on June 14th.

Hahnemann started practicing at PARIS

On 12th of August of 1836, Hahnemann got permission to practice Homoeopathy in Paris. In France he received the reward of his years of trails and starvations. He got name, fame, recognitions, money, honour, comfort and peace.
